You must log in to your Check-in Scan account to begin the setup:
Once inside, go to the Properties section and click the Edit button for the corresponding property.
In the "Options" tab, you can enable the tourist tax calculator.
Once the calculator is activated, you have the option to choose whether the tourist tax is calculated based on the autonomous community, the province, or even customize it depending on the season. The calculator allows you to apply additional criteria to adapt to specific cases.
For example, you can set an age exemption so that minors are not required to pay the tax. You can also specify whether guests are exempt after a certain number of nights, or even apply an automatic discount on the tax starting from a minimum stay.
You can also enable this information so that the guest can view it in the online check-in link and be aware of the amount to be paid upon arrival at the accommodation, or at the time you choose. You can even customize a message to be included in the remarks section.
This is how the guest will view the tourist taxes through the link you sent them to complete the registration. This information will only be available once the check-in process has been completed.
We also offer, as an additional feature, a simulator for calculating the tourist tax. This is a calculator that allows you to simulate check-in and check-out dates, as well as the number of guests by specifying their ages. Once the data has been entered, you can click "Save and Calculate", and the estimated total amount for that example will be displayed.
You can download the Excel file with your tax calculations from your Check-in Scan account in the "Check-ins" section by clicking "Export Taxes".
